Hey you,

It's cold. I'm freezing!!!

I'm such a summer girl. I just pass through winter in my pajamas curled up on a couch with a blanket. Thinking about creating content during that time just feels like a herculean task. Okay, I will do it. I have to.

I'm going to survive on batch-prepping content. Like, do sprints of filming a lot of content together and then spend the next few weeks editing on the couch :P

My dance classes are going great. I finally shared a few dance videos on my Instagram (but you are the first one to know!) and everyone seemed to love it. I got such nice feedback, I didn't even expect that. Most people were just surprised to see a new side of me.

I think most often on social media, we see creators doing their thing and we make assumptions about them based on just what they chose to put out. Humans are so much more complex than what can be portrayed in a 10 minute video (that was carefully edited and curated).

But nowadays, it's so hard to know what's really going on in that person's life without actually knowing the person in real life. A person's life can look super boring on social media, but could actually be super fun and fulfilled in real life. At the same time, another person could look like they are having the time of their life when in reality they are dealing with loneliness or deep issues and are just projecting their ideal life on socials.

Anyway, I went on quite a tangent there! :P

Here's a photo I took last Friday with my close friend Jane (you might have seen her on multiple YouTube videos of mine. I love cooking for her.) I think it's such a funny portrayal of what I just explained right now about people on social media having two sides (happy and sad).

Well, if you made it all the way up until here, I want you to go and comment on my last Dahi Bara video and ask for the Aloo dum recipe! Let's see if you really read my newsletter ;P

I already posted the recipes for the Odia Dahi Bara and Aloo Dum on my blog in case you wanna check those out.
I was inspired by my cousin's husband's cuisine (originating from Orissa, a part of my country that I had never been to before their wedding last year). They make great food there and it's always so amazing to see how I'm still discovering my own country's cuisine every day.

Do give it a try!

🔌 Movie Highlight: A Monster Calls

I watched this movie yesterday and I am amazed by the screenplay! It's a fantasy movie, so touching, about a 12 yo boy coping with his mother's fight with cancer. It starts off as a typical kid's fantasy movie but quickly turns into this deep movie that deals with the topic of grief, loss, etc. with valuable lessons that apply to everyone. Let me know if you watch it!

With that, I hope you have a great start to the week!

Love and Dosas,
Anjali ðŸŒ±ðŸ¥¥
